Hercules hero of song and story!

One of the oldest most famed cartoon of the 1960's. The Mighty Hercules was one of those really dated cartoons from the golden age of cartoons.  The concept takes the classic mythic legend of Hercules and takes quite an interesting spin on him. Mixing Hercules lore with there own twist and stories. it aired back in 1963 all the way through to 1966. The series had about 125 episodes about 5 minutes each in length.
most notable things in the series was Hercules props. A power ring that gives him his super strength and his belt which also worked as a signaling device and he kept his ring in the belt  as well.
Newton was his side kid in the show and he was a young centaur that had the most annoying speech impediment you ever hear a cartoon character speak. Newton always spoke everything twice(what the hell was up with that?).

I personally always thought as a kid Hercules in the show looked alot like superman, which I think made sense in the Bruce Timm Superman TAS . Bruce heavily based his style around those old superman serials and cartoons. Uncanny to is the opening has a similar scene in the opening of Batman TAS where he is standing high on a cliff with thunder and lightning in the background(a homage or just coincidence?) what about the look of superman and Herc?
apparently from wikipedia Back in 2005, the series was re-issued to television in a newly remastered version and was reformatted, and in the process, replacing Johnny Nash's familiar theme music with new title music by an unknown singer. I never heard of this nor this new song which is a horrible Idea that original jingle wasn't only catchy it was the most memorable theme song I would sing to myself as a child. I really believe that theme is what sold this show. I've seen several of the remastered version of the show and it look better then it did when it was released. Though I also not a fan of all this remastered work, something about seeing it in the old grainy look that brings back some of that nostalgia. I have to admit  however, when you look at these remastered old cartoons its hard to say no to these versions. so what do you think is it best to remaster all these older movies and shows?

Here's the lyric for a little :

- The Mighty Hercules
Hercules, hero of song and story.
Hercules, winner of ancient glory.
Fighting for the right,
Fighting with his might,
With the strength of ten, ordinary men.

Hercules, people are safe when near him.
Hercules, only the evil fear him.
Softness in his eyes,
Iron in his thighs,
Virtue in his heart,
Fire in every part,
Of the Mighty Hercules.
Join us at his side,
Standing there with pride,
Victory is here,
Raise a mighty cheer,
At the sight of Hercules.
